Register for May Workshop – Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood

Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood – Interactive Outdoor Learning Activities for Young Children will be held on Tuesday, May 22 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the Ives Grove Auditorium in Sturtevant (14200 Washington Ave.)

Research shows that children who are connected to nature experience positive benefits to their social, emotional, academic, and physical development and well-being.  This workshop will help early childhood teachers to:

  • Foster children’s curiosity about nature through outdoor exploration and play-based learning 
  • Offer ideas on how to bring the outdoors into the classroom that includes sensory experiences, singing, dancing, and movement
  • Participants will receive a curriculum that contains 130 experiences that engage young children (ages 3 to 6 years) in outdoor play and exploration. This training is provided at a reduced cost due to the generous support of a Project Learning Tree grant and the United Way of Racine County.

Early Childhood Educators will receive 3 Registry Credits (0.50 will be completed via a take home assignment)The cost is $20. The registration deadline is May 16 and pre-registration is required. This training is provided at a reduced cost due to the generous support of a Project Learning Tree grant and the United Way of Racine County.
