Strengthening Families Program to be held at Starbuck Middle School

Parents and youth, ages 10 to 14 years old, are invited to participate in the Strengthening Families 10-14 workshop series that will begin on February 16, 2016. Strengthening Families is a family-focused program for youth ages 10 to 14 years old and their parents. Parents and youth participate in activities that strengthen their ability to communicate, set limits, and resolve problems together as a family. Youth also gain skills in handling stress and resisting peer pressure especially related to alcohol, drugs, and delinquent behavior.

This is a 7-week series that will begin on February 16 and run through April 5. It will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Starbuck Middle School located at 1516 Ohio Street in Racine. The program is free for families. Strengthening Families is an evidence-based program that has been recognized as an exemplary prevention program by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and other federal agencies.
