4-H Livestock Projects

Project Goals

The 4-H livestock program helps youth learn about the selection, feeding, caring, production, breeding, showing, management, marketing, and health of their animals. Youth will become more confident as they take on this responsibility of raising a young animal and see that hard work and education pays off

Attention 17-19 year old members! Be sure to apply for the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction Scholarships. We have had winners from Racine county in the past!

the 2015 State 4-H Livestock Quizbowl and Skillathon Contest planned for Saturday, March 7, 2015 at UW-Madison.  This contest is open to 4-H members grades 3-13 and counties are encouraged to send teams to the event.   There are Junior, Mixed and Senior team divisions available and top Senior teams in both events have the opportunity to advance to National contests.  As we have done in past years, the two events will be running the same day.  Cost is $10 per youth.  Registrations are due to our office on Friday, February 27th.  No late registrations will be accepted.   We also posted updated resource handbooks with rules and events for both contests.  Please use the following weblink to access that information.
